Joburg Mayor Dada Morero says, “I’m the acting MMC of Transport.”

The resignation of former Transport MMC Kenny Kunene has sparked a conflict between the Patriotic Alliance (PA) and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF); the PA supports Liam Jacobs for the position, while the EFF supports Mgcini Tshwaku as the MMC of Transport.

Kunene’s resignation came after police found him at the Sandton house of murder accused Katiso “KT” Molefe.

Joburg mayor Dada Morero says, “No political party holds an MMC or a department; that is the decision made through a consultative process, that all of us go through as participants in the coalition.”

He added, “At the right time, will make an announcement in terms of who will be in that portfolio; as it stands, I’m the acting MMC of Transport.”
