Fraudulent WhatsApp & SMS Messages Claiming to be from Pikitup

Pikitup wishes to alert the public that fraudulent messages are currently circulating on social media platforms, falsely claiming to be from its Managing Director and requesting money from recipients.

Pikitup confirms that its Managing Director, Ms Bukelwa Njingolo, has not authorised any such requests and the company does not ask for funds, payments or personal details from stakeholders or members of the public through private messages or social media platforms.

These false and fraudulent messages are circulated via WhatsApp and the Short Message Service (SMS).

The matter has been reported to the South African Police Service (SAPS). Pikitup appeals to anyone who receives such fraudulent messages not to respond, transfer money, or provide personal details and to report the contact to the authorities.
