Economic Freedom Fighter Julius Malema delivered a fiery speech at Orlando Community Hall in Soweto last night. This was his first public address after the resignation of the former deputy president of the EFF, who joined the MK Party.
Five days ago, during a media briefing announcing Floyd’s resignation, Malema mentioned that the constitution of the EFF doesn’t allow people to resign, join other parties, or come back to the EFF. He further adds that I’ve made this offer to Floyd that the day you decide to comeback, you are more than welcome because you are not a member, you are the founder of this political party, and you are not our enemy and will never be your enemy.
During the address in Soweto Orlando Community Hall, Julius delivered a fiery speech, speaking strongly against those who broke the constitution of the EFF, which states that members of the party must defend their organisation when under attack.
He further cites that those who choose to be silent during the attack on the EFF must be known as the silent enemies of our organisation, and they must be treated as such.
Malema said, “Their mothers have roofs over their heads; mine has a tombstone. He continues to say that you must leave today because nothing is going to change between now and December. Nothing will change now or in the future. We have no reason to beg anyone; if you want to leave, leave now.”
Floyd Shivambu tweeted just days before the address by Malema that it was the most solid and sound decision ever to join the MK Party, and it is alleged that Mbuyiseni Ndlozi’s partner liked that post by Floyd.
That twitt came under fire by Malema saying when the partner likes the things that seek to denounce the organisation and where the organisation stands, where the relatives, where the cousins and siblings have declared where they stand, and you still ask yourself where the leader stands, look at those around him, and you’ll know where this leader stands.
One of EFF’s members went on social media and said, “It was wrong for Malema to allegedly attack Ndlozi’s partner, and the member cites that Ndlozi’s partner bought their branch gazebo’s last week.”
Professor and Political Analyst Andre Duwenage said, “Mr. Malema is an authoritarian leader and a populist; he doesn’t want opposition. It is clear that the resignation of Floyd Shivambu will have a big impact on the party, and I think his consolidating his position at the moment makes it clear that Floyd’s not the only one within the EFF elite that is critical of Malema.”
Mr. Duwenage adds that “we are entering a phase where the EFF is going to lose support; they are no longer the dominant force to the left of the centre; the shine is going all the way to the MK Party, and the MK Party is becoming more dominant to a large extent to the expenditures of both the ANC and EFF.”
