The United Pentecostal Church, founded by Professor and Archbishop Bafana Tshegameno and her wife, Dr. Rose Tshegameno, recently hosted a successful Ceremonial Celebration at its Headquarters on Kagiso Avenue on Saturday, 05 September 2026.
The Celebration, held at Headquarters 8786, Kagiso 2 Avenue, 1745, brought together congregants and members from various branches of the United Pentecostal Church for a day of praise, worship, Thanksgiving, and reflection on God’s faithfulness.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, various branches gathered in the early hours of Saturday morning to participate in the Ceremonial Celebration, filling the atmosphere with praise and worship, as various branches gathered to participate in the Ceremonial Celebration.
The main purpose of the celebration was to thank God for His grace, protection, and wisdom throughout the years and to acknowledge His continued guidance over the church’s work of preaching the gospel without compromise. The occasion also served as an opportunity to strengthen the congregation and encourage members to remain committed to their journey with God.
The atmosphere was filled with worship, praise, prayers, and the Word of God, with the congregation encouraged not to give up in their walk of faith.
Professor and Archbishop Bafana Tshegameno, founder of the United Pentecostal Church, highlighted the importance of celebrating and giving thanks to God for carrying the church through over the years by His grace:
Philippians 2v2 says that God’s expectation for this church is to be strong, live in harmony, be of the same mind and purpose, have the same love, and be of one mind and intention.
Various archbishops from different churches also emphasized the importance of acknowledging and remaining thankful for God’s work and grace over the years. Congregants were encouraged to continuously seek God’s wisdom and remain rooted in His Word, which provides light and direction throughout their journeys.
Apostle William Seleka spoke about the importance of following God’s laws and believing in His presence:
“People should learn to know God and that He’s alive. Our problem as people is that we don’t want to believe in something that we don’t see; we want to see first and then believe tangible things, but by His works, we know that there’s God. Today’s ceremony testifies that this is His work, and His children should be grateful.”
The congregation responded with heartfelt praise and worship, expressing their gratitude to God and celebrating His faithfulness.
Archbishop Steven Harab encouraged young people to seek God during their formative years and to remind them to focus on their faith:
“To our young people, always seek God first in your youthful journey and remain faithful to Him. As older individuals, we should guide our young people, as many of them are lost and engaged in sinful activities that separate them from God and the church. However, we are here as parents who have been walking this journey of faith to inspire them to live holy lives and remain faithful.”
The gathering served as a powerful reminder of the church’s commitment to its faith, its community, and the continued preaching of the gospel, while encouraging believers to remain steadfast and trust in God’s grace, wisdom, and protection.
The ceremony concluded with an opportunity for congregants to pray, praise, and give thanks to God.
