Soweto Highway Road Reopened
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) can confirm that the Soweto Highway in Diepkloof has been fully reopened to traffic in both directions.
This comes after the Gauteng National Taxi Association Thami Moyo was gunned down along the Soweto Highway on Thursday morning.
Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Mavela Masondo said “Moyo was driving alone when he was ambushed by suspects travelling in a minibus taxi and Toyota Yaris.” Moyo adds nothing was taken from the vehicle.
Soweto Highway was previously closed between the N1 and Immink Drive due to a fatal shooting incident. Law enforcement and emergency services have completed their work on the scene.
