Rainbow Seeds NPO, based in Rustenburg, recently hosted a successful dialogue on LGBTQIA, held at Letlhabile POP NN Centre, on Friday, May 15, 2026.

The dialogue brought together various stakeholders to engage on issues relating to LGBTQIA+ inclusion, health awareness, human rights, HIV, TB, and STIs.

The main objective of the dialogue was to raise awareness about the rights of the LGBTQIA community and to create safer and supportive spaces where members could educate, inform, and engage with the broader community about their lived experiences and identities. The platform also addressed important issues such as identity, mental health, human rights, access to healthcare, and challenges faced by the LGBTQIA community at large.

The event aimed to promote unity, solidarity, and empowerment and also encouraged residents to live together in harmony with LGBTQIA people.

As an advocacy officer, Mr Thapelo Setuki said, “Everyone deserves dignity, respect, and equal opportunities regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.” We encourage people to continue speaking up, supporting one another, and creating safer spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.”

This campaign was designed to raise greater awareness; strengthen support networks; also share valuable information; and promote a platform for LGBTQIA members to voice their concerns and continue advocating for their rights.

As a social worker, Mr Tumisang Kole highlighted the importance of hosting such dialogue, saying:

“It’s through such events as Beyond Binary Dialogue that we celebrate diversity and inclusion while simultaneously addressing challenges affecting the LGBTQIA population and engaging with them.” Keep claiming your voice, building community, and supporting one another. You are not alone; there are allies, professionals, and communities standing with you.”

At the conclusion of the event, attendees actively engaged with various stakeholders on the topics discussed, seeking further information and guidance.
