Springboks Give Fans Chance to Wear Their Names on the Field

The Springboks are set to honour their loyal supporters in a unique and historic way when they face the Barbarians in Gqeberha on 20 June 2026.

In partnership with betway, the Springboks will replace the Betway logo on the back of their match shorts with the names of 23 lucky fans selected from across South Africa. The campaign, titled “Behind Every Bok”, aims to celebrate the passion and unwavering support that supporters bring to the national rugby team.

The initiative offers fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see their names carried onto the field by the world champions during the highly anticipated clash in Gqeberha.

According to Jason Shield, Head of Sponsorship at Betway Africa, the campaign is designed to recognise the crucial role supporters play in the team’s success.

“Springbok fans are behind every tackle, every try and every victory. This initiative will give 23 fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get their names behind our Springboks and an experience they will never forget. We see this as an opportunity to pay tribute to the fans who are truly behind the Boks,” said Shield.

Supporters wishing to take part can enter through the official campaign website, behindeverybok.co.za, where they can submit their details and create a personalised preview showing how their name would appear on the Springbok shorts.

To finalise their entry, participants must share it on social media using the hashtag #BehindEveryBok.

Rian Oberholzer, Chief Executive Officer of sarugby, described the campaign as a fitting tribute to the supporters who stand by the team.

“Springbok supporters play an important role in the team’s journey, and this initiative is a unique way to recognise the passion and support South Africans bring to the game. To see fans’ names carried onto the field alongside the Springboks makes this a really special moment,” Oberholzer said.

Adding to the excitement, the 23 winners will also enjoy an unforgettable match-week experience in Gqeberha alongside former Springbok captain Jean de Villiers, who serves as the Betway Squad campaign captain.

Entries are now officially open and will close on 11 June 2026, giving supporters a limited opportunity to secure their place behind the Boks — quite literally.

One game. Twenty-three names. One unforgettable chance to stand with the Springboks.
