SUPTA RELEASES POWERFUL NEW SINGLE “AMAGAMA”
South African DJ, producer and media personality Supta has officially released his highly anticipated new single, “Amagama”, available on all digital streaming platforms from 1 May 2026.
Known for his signature blend of Afro House and Afro Tech, Supta — born Siyabulela Sithole — continues to cement his place as one of South Africa’s most respected musical storytellers. Hailing from Aliwal North in the Eastern Cape, the multi-talented artist delivers yet another emotionally rich offering that reflects both his musical evolution and deep cultural influence.
Translated from isiXhosa and isiZulu as “words,” “Amagama” is a soulful and deeply expressive track that explores themes of communication, honesty, emotional vulnerability, and the impact words can have in relationships and everyday life.
Driven by hypnotic rhythms, layered percussion, and powerful melodic elements, the single showcases Supta’s refined production style while maintaining the authenticity that has become synonymous with his sound. The track is expected to resonate strongly with both radio listeners and dance music lovers across the country.
Supta first gained national acclaim through his contribution to the award-winning hit “Gugulethu” alongside Prince Kaybee – a cultural anthem that dominated charts and dance floors nationwide. Over the years, he has collaborated with several of South Africa’s leading artists, including Lady Zamar, Aymos, Nkosazana Daughter, DJ Zinhle, and DJ Tira.
His recent releases, including “Hayi SUPTA” and the Makwande EP released in 2025, continue to showcase his versatility and commitment to pushing the boundaries of Afro electronic music.
After spending more than a decade as one of the recognizable voices at YFM, Supta has successfully transitioned into a full-time music career focused on production, live performances, and creative growth. His journey from influential broadcaster to respected music powerhouse reflects his passion for storytelling and his dedication to the culture.
