Tarlton Stakeholders Launch Gender-Based Violence and Femicide Awareness Campaign

Tarlton stakeholders in Mogale City launched Gender-Based Violence and Femicide Awareness Campaign. On the November 26, 2025 during the “16 Days of Activism against GBVF”. The march, hosted at Tarlton Community Hall, brought together various community stakeholders to stand in solidarity with survivors and raise awareness about gender-based violence and femicide.
The main objective of the march was to educate, inform and teach the public about warning signs of gender-based violence and encourage the community members to take action by standing together to fight this scourge. The event also called for an end to the silence surroundings Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, empowering community members to speak up and take a stand..
As a social worker from Mogale City, Mr Sibusiso Baloyi said, “If we are to fight a successful battle against GBVF in our communities, we need to report and hold each other accountable for our actions. Let’s all walk together to fight gender-based violence.”

Various stakeholders spoke passionately about the growing prevalence of the violence and the role of Communities in confronting it. They encouraged victims to come forward and seek professional help and emphasised the availability of professional services, including counselling and shelter.
As the Head of department of Social Worker in Mogale City Miss Napogadi Masokoameng, said “I urge anyone who finds themselves in the situation of gender-Based violence to report it and also seek professional assistance. Those who are financially dependent on the perpetrators should seek intervention and consider joining empowerment programmes.”
At the end of the campaign, candles were lot as a symbol of commitment to fight the scourge of gender-Based Violence and Femicide, expressing support to victims.
