Two stars, one proud legacy as Mamelodi Sundowns launch new PUMA home kit
Mamelodi Sundowns have unveiled their new 2026/27 home kit, with the club’s latest CAF Champions League triumph proudly reflected in the form of a second star above the famous Masandawana crest.
The new kit, launched in partnership with PUMA, celebrates Sundowns’ rich history, continental success and the generations of players who have helped establish the club as a force in African football.
The design takes inspiration from the iconic 1994 Sundowns strip, which featured on the cover of the first-ever edition of Kick Off magazine. The latest version retains the traditional yellow shirt, blue shorts and white socks, while adding modern details including red PUMA branding, a thin green collar stripe and subtle debossed yellow stripes.
The kit launch forms part of the “Shine on Masandawana” campaign, which brings together a combination of current players, emerging talent and legendary figures from the club’s history.
Current and rising stars Grant Kenana, Thapelo Morena, Malibongwe Khoza and Kutlwano Letlhaku feature alongside Sundowns icons Daniel “Mambush” Mudau, Roger Feutemba and Hlompho Kekana.
Mudau was part of the famous 1994 generation, while Kekana captained Sundowns to their first CAF Champions League title in 2016. That victory earned the club its first star, with the second now added following their latest continental success in May 2026.
PUMA South Africa Marketing Director Brett Bellinger said the new kit represents the club’s journey and the contribution of the players who have shaped its success.
“Mamelodi Sundowns and PUMA have formed a formidable team over the past decade and with the new kit we wanted to honour and celebrate all the players who have contributed to the club’s successful legacy,” said Bellinger.
For Kekana, the new shirt represents more than just a new season. He said the partnership between Sundowns and PUMA has always carried a strong connection to the club’s history.
“The new jersey, which is the first edition with two stars above the club’s crest, is a piece of history as it pays homage to the past and celebrates the success of Mamelodi Sundowns as the Champions of Africa,” said Kekana.
Supporters will be able to purchase the new home kit from 31 July 2026.
The Authentic players’ shirt will retail for R2,399, while the men’s and women’s Replica shirts will be available for R1,299. The kids’ Replica shirt will cost R1,199.
The kit will be available at PUMA retail stores, PUMA.com, JD Sports, Totalsports, Sportsmans Warehouse and Studio 88.
