The music fraternity is mourning the passing of award-winning Sotho rapper and songwriter Bokang Moleli, affectionately known as Malome Vector, who perished in a grisly car accident in the Free State province along with two other artists while en route to Lesotho to film a music video. He was 32.
His family confirmed his untimely demise in a media statement on Thursday morning, saying, “Male Vector was involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident on his way to Lesotho, which took his life immediately.”
“A true and long-awaited indeed. He lived all his life in the entertainment industry and brought to us the music that we have come to love so much.”
Vector is survived by his wife and daughter, as well as his mother, father, and four siblings.
The family further described him as “a true and loving son,” adding that he will be remembered for his “limitless love and selflessness.”
“We appreciate all the condolences and love that are pouring from all ends. However, due to the burden of this matter, we kindly request that you give the family the time it needs to mourn.”
