Jacob Zuma issued a precautionary suspension to Dr. John Hlope
The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) leader, Jacob Zuma, has placed the deputy president and parliamentary leader, Dr. John Hlope, on precautionary suspension.
MK Party leader Jacob Zuma was in Burkina Faso as part of the Afro-descendants Stay Program, an initiative aimed at strengthening ties between the people of the continent and their diasporas. Upon his arrival back in the country, Zuma issued a precautionary suspension to Dr. Hlope from his leadership roles as deputy president and Parliamentary leader.
This action comes after Dr. Hlope’s decision to remove Cde Collen Makhubele and appoint Cde Des Van Rooyen. The decision to appoint Van Rooyen is therefore nullified.
The party’s decision to put Dr. Hlope on precautionary suspension pending a full investigation, this send a strong message and uphold the principle of collective leadership across all structures within the MK Party.
