The Quatuum Verse (Pty) Ltd, a company based in West Rand, recently organised an inspiring mathematics competition for high school learners across the region. The event, hosted at Gauteng Archives in Kagiso 2 on Thursday, October 24, 2025, brought together learners, educators, community members, and stakeholders in a shared mission to promote mathematical excellence and confidence among young minds.

The competition aimed to motivate and empower West Rand high school learners as they approach their final exams. Mathematics is often perceived as a difficult subject, and many learners struggle to grasp concepts or understand question structures. This initiative sought to change that perception – encourage learners to approach mathematics with creativity, curiosity, and confidence. Through interactive problem-solving sessions and teamwork activities, participants were challenged to see mathematics from a new perspective as a subject rooted in logic, creativity, and real-world problem-solving. The event also encourages collaboration, allowing learners to engage with peers and share diverse approaches to tackling challenges.

“As you step into the world of mathematical discovery, remember that every great mathematician has walked this path before you. Said Professor Sakhiwe Ndlovu, Founder, CEO, and Director of Quatuum Verse. Embrace your challenges, and let the thrill of problem-solving ignite your passion. The beauty of mathematics lies not in the answers but in the journey of unlocking them. Believe in your abilities, and trust your unique perspective can unlock new solutions.”

Learners from grades 8 to 11 participated in the competition, showcasing their problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for mathematics. Outstanding participants were recognised and awarded exciting prizes at the end of the campaign.
