Nine suspects were arrested following a drug lab raid in Krugersdorp

Nine suspects were arrested on Monday after the Hawks discovered and raided a suspected clandestine drug manufacturing laboratory in Boltonia, Krugersdorp West.

According to the Hawks, the discovery of the drug lab was subsequent to allegations that surfaced about the operation thereof.

“The members of the Serious Organized Crime Investigation team descended upon the dilapidated factory, where they found an assortment of methamphetamine-producing chemicals in large quantities. During the search of the premises, nine suspects, including two females, were apprehended.” SAPS spokesperson in the West Rand, colonel Katlego Mogale, said in a statement

The arrested suspects will make their first appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates Court on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, facing charges of manufacturing illicit drugs.

The Provincial Head of the Hawks in Gauteng, Major General Ebrahim Kadwa, lauded the sterling work by the team and encouraged them to aim for the kingpins. The investigation continues.
