Police seek public assistance following an armed robbery in Dobsonville. 

Dobsonville police are seeking the assistance of the public to solve a business robbery that occurred at a local business in Dobsonville, Soweto, on Saturday, July 3, at approximately 11:15.

Police spokesperson, Constable Thokwan Vusi, said police are looking for all possible leads and photos of the suspects that can assist in arresting the suspects involved in a business robbery that occurred at Usave supermarket in Dobsonville extension 5.

“It is alleged by the victim that six (6) African males entered the Usave store and pulled out firearms and demanded money. They opened tills and took money in the amount of +-R5900 and also robbed the customers; one refused to be searched and was shot by one of the suspects, added Vusi.

Vusi added that a 24-year-old patron was declared dead on the scene by the paramedics.

“Whoever recognises or gets information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators may contact Dobsonville SAPS on 079 525 1373 or send a tip off on our crime stop line on 086 001 0111,concluded Vusi.
