SuperSport United has announced the signing of Serbian striker Samir Nurković on a one-and-a-half-year deal, further strengthening their attacking lineup.
The 32-year-old forward, who previously played for Kaizer Chiefs, Royal AM, and TS Galaxy, has an impressive record, scoring over 30 goals during his five years in South Africa. Nurković’s addition comes as a strategic move to boost the team’s goal-scoring capabilities, with his debut expected in January 2025, pending the approval of his work permit.
Stanley Matthews, CEO of SuperSport United, expressed confidence in Nurković’s potential impact: “Samir is a proven number 9 target man with a good track record. He fits perfectly with our style of play, which emphasizes crosses from wide areas and capitalizing on set pieces,” Matthews stated.
Reflecting on his signing, Nurković shared his enthusiasm:
“I am so happy and grateful to be at a wonderful and amazing club like SuperSport United FC. I am looking forward to my first training session, meeting my teammates, and getting to work.”
Nurković’s arrival brings high expectations as SuperSport United eyes greater success in their campaigns. Fans eagerly await his debut, confident that his experience and scoring prowess will add significant value to the team.
The January transfer window will mark the beginning of what promises to be an exciting chapter for both Nurković and SuperSport United.
