Sip, stroke, and self-expression! Kat’s Drawing Foundation Brings Colour and Creativity to Boksburg

Creativity flowed and spirits were lifted as Mrs Katlego Moise, Founder of Kat’s Drawing Foundation, successfully hosted a vibrant sip, paint, and unwind event at Van Dyk Park in Boksburg on Saturday, 04 April 2026.
“Your Art, Your Way” Takes Centre Stage
The event welcomed both young and old from the community, all eager to explore their creative side. With a paintbrush in hand and canvases ready, attendees were encouraged to express their thoughts, emotions, and personal stories through art; no experience needed.

Art that Speaks Without Words
The initiative highlighted how art can be a powerful form of communication. Participants discovered that with colours, shapes, and imagination, they could “speak” without saying a single word. The session also promoted art as a tool for stress relief and emotional healing.
Breaking Barriers in Black Communities
Mrs. Moise stressed the significance of acknowledging and fostering artistic talent, particularly in Black communities where art frequently goes unnoticed.
“Believe in yourself and trust that small voice within you. When I applied to fashion school, I almost let fear take over comparing myself to someone else during the entrance exam. But, when I chose to focus on my voice, I relaxed, did my best, and ended up receiving a full scholarship after scoring 97%. That experience taught me the importance of trusting yourself.”

Building Confidence through Creativity
Glasses aims to provide a safe space for self-expression while boosting confidence and encouraging individuals. Parents were also urged to support their children’s artistic journey and talents.
A Canvas Full of Stories
The campaign concluded with a free painting session, where attendees brought their brighter vision of life, each artwork telling a different story, each brushstroke reflecting personal experience.
More Than Just a Painting, It’s a Movement!
Kat’s Drawing Foundation continues to inspire, uplift, and empower the communities, one canvas at a time.
