Following electrifying semi-final matches in the Nedbank Cup, the last two teams have been revealed, setting the stage for an unforgettable final showdown at the iconic Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

In what promises to be a thrilling finale, the Orlando Pirates will face off against the Mamelodi Sundowns in the ultimate battle for Nedbank Cup glory, and football fans can anticipate an exciting clash as these two formidable teams vie for one of the most prestigious football titles in the country.

The journey to the 2024 Nedbank Cup has been filled with passion and fierce competition. As the tournament progressed, football fans across South Africa eagerly awaited the outcomes of each match, witnessing extraordinary displays of skill, talent, and determination on the field.

Reflecting on the journey thus far, Nthabiseng Matshekga, Nedbank’s Executive Head for Integrated Marketing and Experience, emphasised the significance of this year’s Nedbank Cup campaign. “Throughout the tournament, we have strived to bring fans closer to the action, celebrating the spirit of Ke Yona and Ya Rona. From the exciting matches to the innovative fan engagement initiatives, the Nedbank Cup has thus far showcased the best of South African football,” said Matshekga.

One of the highlights of this year’s tournament has been the introduction of Ya Rona House, South Africa’s first fully-fledged creator house, and how it has provided fans with innovative experiences that intersect sports, entertainment, and culture. These experiences are set to continue as Nedbank plans to host one more fan experience as we approach the final next month.

In addition to celebrating football excellence, the Nedbank Cup will continue to demonstrate its commitment to community development through sports by erecting a multipurpose sports court in an area chosen by the tournament’s winners. Since 2012, Nedbank, supported by The Sports Trust, has erected eight multipurpose sports courts valued at R2 million each. These courts provide access and opportunities for learners, schools, and communities to engage in sporting activities, fostering a culture of health and wellness.

Looking ahead to the final match at Mbombela Stadium, football enthusiasts can expect a thrilling display of talent and determination as the Orlando Pirates look to defend the coveted 2024 Nedbank Cup title against Mamelodi Sundowns. As the tournament reaches its climax, the PSL and Nedbank remain dedicated to providing fans with unforgettable experiences and creating lasting memories.
